SEBI allows brokers to invest clients’ fund in overnight MF schemes
Mumbai: Capital market regulator SEBI has allowed stock brokers and clearing members to park client funds in mutual fund overnight schemes as they invest only in risk-free government securities. Brokers and clearing members should ensure that the overnight schemes invest only in government bond, overnight repo markets and overnight Tri-party Repo Dealing and Settlement (TREPS). Such Mutual Fund Overnight Schemes (MFOS) units should be in dematerialised (demat) form and must necessarily be pledged with a clearing corporation at all times.

Consistent inflows push small cap funds AUM past Rs 2 lakh crore mark in November
Strong, incessant net flows and favourable market conditions propped up the assets base for the small-cap mutual fund category to cross Rs 2 lakh crore mark in November-end, a sharp surge of 69 per cent from a year earlier. On a month-on-month basis, the Assets Under Management (AUM) of the category grew 10 per cent to Rs 1.99 lakh crore, data with the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) showed.
Bajaj Finserv MF plans small-cap fund in January-March 2024, says CEO Mohan
New Delhi: Bajaj Finserv Asset Management Ltd (BFAML) plans to launch a small-cap focused mutual fund (MF) scheme in January-March 2024, according to its Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Mohan. This would be followed up with a large- and mid-cap focused scheme, as the recent entrant in the MF industry looks to broaden its bouquet of debt and equity offerings. “We have filed the papers and applied for the small-cap equity fund. We are looking at the first quarter of next calendar year for launch,” Mohan told businessline here.
Axis MF's fixed maturity fund collects Rs 600 crore in NFO period
Leading fund house Axis Mutual Fund on Monday said it has garnered over Rs 600 crore from the New Fund Offering (NFO) of its debt scheme, Axis Fixed Term Plan Series 118 (100 days). The fund, a close-ended debt scheme with a moderate interest rate risk and moderate credit risk, opened on November 28 and closed on December 4, Axis Mutual Fund said in a statement.
